How would you describe your personal style?

Modern Vintage

What's your current favorite piece in your closet?

Leopard faux fur coat

Who do you look up to for style inspiration?

Alexa Chung, Hailey Baldwin, Margot Robbie - the latest IT celeb gals

What inspired you to start shopping sustainably?

I’ve always op shopped since I was little. It was exciting to me to find hidden gems for very little money

Where are your favorite places to shop?

Vinnies, Salvos & Red Cross thrift shops. Swop & U Turn Vintage in Newtown

You seem to have thrifted some pretty awesome pieces. Can you share some tips?

Check out all the sections of an op shop, including the bedwear and menswear. Also disregard sizes. If you like it, try it on and get creative! My go to sections are the belts, bags and bling

What challenges do you think ethical shoppers face?

I don’t have any in particular as I thrift for the most part and don’t really buy new

Although we think sustainable fashion is a great practice, there is still a stigma attached to buying secondhand clothes and many still find it 'uncool'. What's your take on that?

I think the price factor with a lot of sustainable and ethical brands out there, push a large part of the market out

What would be your advice to someone who wants to become a more responsible fashion shopper?

I think that way of thinking has changed to be honest. As a kid it was definitely frowned upon and op shops were places of necessity for the disadvantaged in our community to shop at. Now they’re cool and on trend, everyone likes to save money and look unique. Vintage is all the rage, so I think an op shop ticks a lot of boxes for our new generation of fashionistas

What would be your advice to someone who wants to become a more responsible fashion shopper?

Take an interest in where your clothes come from, and who made them. It’s a matter of asking the question to the fashion labels and holding them accountable to put an end to the mistreatment of workers from poorer countries, who are being exploited, children included - to make garments for western countries. Check the tags and research.
